Earrings: Blue Lace Agate with Swarovski Crystals & Silver Wire

Rock Lore & Tidbits: George Swanson discovered blue lace agate on his farm, Ysterputs Farm, in Namibia, which was called South West Africa at the time. He coined the term “Gem of Ecology” for it because of the swirling blues and whites which resemble clouds above the Earth (the fragile blue marble) as seen from space.    The best blue lace agate in the world still comes from the narrow seam on George’s farm.

Blue lace agate is a gentle, calming stone that engenders tranquility.  Blue lace agate brings with this calm and tranquility a lessening of anger, even deep anger issues, and a calming of nervousness.  It can help bring stronger intuition and inner knowing.   Inspiration is another hallmark of blue lace agate and is considered a stone of communication.  As with all agates, Blue lace agate is a protective stone.  Its protective energies are more gentle and subtle than some stones.  In the crystal healing realm, blue lace agate has been used to aid with arthritis, headaches, colic, digestive issues, growth, throat, skin especially eczema, and bones.

This particular serpentine’s shades of green will make you feel as if you’re stretched out in a hammock gently rocked by cool summer breezes.  Color your world green-with blissful, tranquil green “new jade” serpentine jewelry.  “New jade” serpentine is said to have the same spiritual values as green jade–it promotes tranquility.  The bracelet measures 7 1/2 inches in length.

Necklace: Red Rainbow Pendant & Beads with Sterling Silver

Instead of your usual rainbow,  imagine a rainbow of warm sensual colors:  burgundy-red golds, browns and tans.  That’s rainbow jasper.   Like all jasper its deeply banded colors come from organic material and iron oxides imbedded in it.   Rainbow jasper is found in Africa and India, but it reminds me of the jasper found in southwest Colorado where the Anasazi, famous for their cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde, formed arrowheads from it.   Today, with the fashion world’s shift from sky tones to earth tones, this unusual jasper is used more widely in jewelry than ever.  Rainbow jasper helps us focus without overanalyzing things.   The is 17 1/2 inches in length and closes with a silver swivel lobster clasp.
