Bracelet & Earrings: Jade with Swarovski Crystal & Silver

Jade.   The word calls up images of the Far East: pagodas, carved Buddha statues and mammoth golden fish swimming in clear, shallow pools.   The most valuable jade is that verdant green.  Green jade promotes strength. It offers physical and emotional well-being, especially during unpleasant or difficult situations, by helping us feel more grounded.   Though we may not be able to change the situation, jade can help us accept and deal with it.  The bracelet is 7 1/2 inches with an adjustable toggle that could add approximately 1 inch to that.

Necklace: Red Rainbow Pendant & Beads with Sterling Silver

Instead of your usual rainbow,  imagine a rainbow of warm sensual colors:  burgundy-red golds, browns and tans.  That’s rainbow jasper.   Like all jasper its deeply banded colors come from organic material and iron oxides imbedded in it.   Rainbow jasper is found in Africa and India, but it reminds me of the jasper found in southwest Colorado where the Anasazi, famous for their cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde, formed arrowheads from it.   Today, with the fashion world’s shift from sky tones to earth tones, this unusual jasper is used more widely in jewelry than ever.  Rainbow jasper helps us focus without overanalyzing things.   The is 17 1/2 inches in length and closes with a silver swivel lobster clasp.

Necklace: Grey Fossil Agate Pendant & Beads with Bali Silver

Necklace: Grey Fossil Agate Pendant & Beads with Bali Silver

This stone can be found along the Piedra and San Juan Rivers in southwest Colorado.   This stone captures a sense prevalent in the southwest-a sense of walking where people and creatures from a far earlier time had also walked.   Everything about this agate speaks of something far older and more lasting than we are.   The word agate comes from the Sicilian Achates River where agates were found in antiquity.   The grey and white swirls through these beads give them a lovely time-aged mottled effect.  This stone has magnetic properties is credited with removing anxiety from the body.   The necklace measures 19 inches in length the pendant is suspended with Bali silver beads, 6mm fossil agate round beads, and closes with a silver swivel lobster clasp.

Earrings: Jasper Briolettes and Cubic Zirconia Rounds with Antique Brass

These briolettes had uneven holes drilled making it difficult to wrap with wire, for that reason, I used brass headpins.

That method also made it possible to evenly suspend the beads.  I frequently use headpins to make wire wraps and wire loops to connect beads.
