Amethyst is said to dissipate evil thoughts, quicken intelligence, increase psychic and intuitive abilities, promote peace. unification, & calmness.  It is often used in meditation to promote an overall sense spiritual balance.  Some use it to treat insomnia, sugar imbalance, and relieve to headaches.  That’s allot to demand from a gem–I like amethyst simply because it’s so pretty!

These wire cages are  made easier by wrapping the wire spirals first, then inserting the bead.

I ordered these beads online and was disappointed that they weren’t larger–seems those that aren’t quite what I thought spur me on to create.  They reminded me of wind chimes–they, however, aren’t noisy when they move.

I’m making a conscious effort to be more asymmetric with my designs–the necklace measures 18″ in length.

This is a gift for my grand daughter’s awesome daycare provider, Tia.  She is an excellent teacher and Melanie has learned so much from her.
